The first estate sale I ever went to, I sat in the car for probably ten minutes before I could make myself go in. It felt wrong. Somebody's whole house, wide open, with strangers picking through the kitchen.

I've been a thrifter forever. Way before Hearth & Heritage was a business, I was the one walking slow through a Saturday estate sale, running my hand along a dresser, flipping a plate to check the mark on the bottom.
